Squirrel Control Services
Some Background
The Eastern grey squirrel is one of the most prolific rodents living in the Panhandle of Florida. They are incredibly agile and extremely capable climbers. Like all rodents, they have incisor front teeth that are constantly growing, necessitating the animals to frequently chew in order to keep them short and sharp. Unfortunately, sometimes they end up chewing on houses, creating holes mostly in rooflines and allowing them access to attics. Once inside, they will frequently use insulation to make nests and just like on the outside of the house, they sometimes chew. Chewing often includes joists and the insulation of wiring, making the removal of these rodents of paramount importance once they’re inside. We offer solutions to both remove and exclude squirrels.
Removal
Just like any other animal removal process, we start with an inspection. During the inspection, we check the attic, crawlspace (if applicable), and any other potential problem areas concerning your specific issue. We also check around the base and roofline of the house to confirm both the entry points and potential entry point of the animal.
Most often with squirrels, trapping is the best solution. Most jobs involve setting a trap on the outside of the house near the entry point or points where squirrels are accessing the roof of the house. We use any and all methods at our disposal throughout trapping to ensure no animals are currently in or accessing the attic at the time trapping concludes. As with all of our removal methods, we choose humane methods and trapping practices to remove animals from your property.
Exclusion
During the inspection, we will inspect for areas that are being used or have potential to be used in the future as entry points. Once these areas are identified we will provide you with options on how to prevent squirrels for causing further problems in the future.
In all of our exclusion work for squirrels, we use materials that the rodents aren’t able to move or chew through (such as galvanized sheet metal) in order to gain access to your attic. Our exclusion work comes with a one-year warranty, with options to extend the timeframe further if you so choose.
